I bought this blender the day before yesterday after having eaten $60 to return the Magic Bullet (A dismal failure). I was very pleased in unpacking the Cuisinart. It feels like a good quality machine. I like the glass blender.

I’ve made several smoothies and chopped some onions and am thrilled with the results. I was actually looking for a second unit in a differant color when I came across the reviews. HOLY COW! The breakage appears to be rampant. I’m not going to buy a second unit now until I see how long this one holds out. Hopefully, Cuisinart has made some improvements. I have several of their appliances and have had wonderful results. This is very disappointing.

Well the blender still works. No cracks in the base there like others have reported. It’s glass and heavy and seems to work very well still. The food processor on the other hand has cracked multiple times. If fell on a plastic tile floor and broke off a small piece. It also cracked when my wife put the feeding tube piece in backward and pressed slightly. This was a $100 wedding gift we thought would last longer than a year considering our regard for the brand. No longer. “Cuisinart” now means “Cuisinjunk” to us.

Decent unit except for the fact the base is made of chrome plated plastic.

THIS MACHINE IS TRULY A BIT OF HEAVEN. IT HAS IT ALL: BLENDER, GRATER, CHOPPER & SLICER. THE BLENDER HAS A SCREW ON BOTTOM WHICH YOU CAN UNSCREW AND THE BLADE COMES OUT SO CLEANING IS A BREEZE. ITS NOT SO BIG THAT IT WON’T FIT IN YOUR CABINET. AND THE MAIN THING…ITS CHROME…HOW COOL, COOKING IN STYLE. I NEVER THOUGHT I’D BE SAYING THIS: COOKING COULDN’T BE MORE FUN WITHOUT THIS!! OH AND THE PRICE IS GREAT.
