The package arrived incredibly quickly, and I ordered it late Sunday night. I ordered this from another dealer and then it didn’t show up, so I was wary to try again, by these guys were great.

This is a fun mug and just the right size for a cup of morning coffee while you get ready for work. In the end, however, I gave it 3-stars simply because it’s worth half the price. But I think the people who buy this (me) are really paying for the memories it brings back!

  3. I love this ceramic version of the to go cups you get in NY. I ordered 4 and they came right away. Love ‘em!

This is a very cool looking mug, from a few feet back it looks identical to the iconic paper cup. However, because the ceramic is much thicker than paper, it holds so little liquid. Also, because there’s no handle, the mug gets far too hot to comfortably hold when it’s filled with a hot beverage. Too bad.

I left New York for greener pastures five years ago and I remember my morning routine of buying a 50 cent cup of coffee, sweet and light, from the bagel cart outside my hospital, rain, shine, or snow. This is a great way to start the day!

Thanks for all your comments. I am the designer of the cup.

Regarding the volume, I think you’ll find it’s very very close to the paper one. The walls are not very thick so you lose little volume compared to the paper cup.

Regarding drinking hot liquids out of it: the key is to hold it like you hold the original paper one. Thumb and index on the rim and pinkie underneath the cup. The rim is cooler than the rest as is the base due to the cavity underneath. I assure you that it’s a great cup to drink hot liquids out of, you just need the right technique. A handle would have made it look very different from the original..

    Enjoy!
